Morning vs. Evening Workouts

Morning vs evening workout - Nicks Fitness Center

Establishing a workout routine benefits your overall health by boosting cardiovascular health, building strength, and enhancing your mood. However, morning and evening workouts can have different health benefits. Depending on the results you want to achieve, we recommend looking into the various results of each time. Understand the benefits of choosing a workout routine that works best for your lifestyle!

Morning Workout

Improved muscle performance

Testosterone levels are slightly higher in the morning than in the evening. With a consistent workout routine and proper nutrition, your morning exercise can support enhanced muscle performance.

Regulates stress

Cortisol is a stress hormone that controls your body’s fight-or-flight response, wake-up response, and stress levels. Regular exercise in the morning can reduce and regulate cortisol levels throughout the day.

Established routine

When you work out in the morning, you’re more likely to exercise consistently and maintain healthier habits. Workouts in the morning also improve energy levels by syncing with your circadian rhythm, making it easier to get through the day.

Enhance your sleep schedule

Exercising in the morning improves sleep by regulating hormones and circadian rhythm throughout the day, increasing the probability of having a better night’s sleep.

Evening

Enhanced Power

Because your body temperature is naturally higher at the end of the day, you can potentially have more mobility and power output during your workout.

Blow off steam

If you’re stressed out after a long day of work, working out can help you ease tension. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood elevators, so an evening workout can help you feel more relaxed and positive after a long day.
